PEÑAFIEL PRIMARY SCHOOL WELFARE MARKET

On Wednesday January 30th, a solidarity market was held in the town of Peñafiel . This year the money raised has gone to the NGO " Peace Messengers", the Prince of Asturias Award in 1994.

What makes this market so special is that it fosters student creativity because what they sell is made by all students from kindergarten to primary students. Children learn that their creative effort is in the interest of those children most in need fostering values like effort, solidarity and creativity.

Serve this review in recognition of all teachers, parents and students who have worked with such enthusiasm to help the most disadvantaged, led by a management team with a strong social conscience.

As Father Angel said, founder of Messengers of Peace, "Spain has always been a country of solidarity with those most in need and currentlythey are in our own country."

Messengers of Peace now focuses on providing food, clothes and place of study to those children who lack the bare minimum to survive.

Congratulations to the children of the CRA La Villa School for giving us this beautiful example of solidarity. This is the video I made on Father
Angel 's visit to this historic Centre.

A MARKET TO RAISE FUNDS TO BUY FOOD FOR THE NEEDED

The Official Language School in Valladolid is a State education centre focused on the teaching of foreign languages. This feature makes them very aware of different cultures and how they can help those who need the basic in order to live a decent life.

They have started a campaign which involves both teachers and students. They collect objects which students and teachers donate and that they will sell in the WELFARE MARKET.

They can bring books, comics, toys, records, Cds, bags, etc, and they will be sold in the Christmas Market. All the money they raise will be donated to the FOOD BANK of Valladolid.
The FOOD BANK is a charity organisation led by volunteers who store the food people or supermarkets donate and are in charge of delivering them among families who do not have the economic means to buy them.

It is a great initiative to try to help those families who are suffering the consequences of the economic crisis.
